15th anniversary of the relaunch of the Association
The creation of the Association
The association des Labrecque was founded in 1994 by the late Abbot Robert Labrecque after having assembled of the Labrecque
during a meeting in Sorel.
A first large gathering took place in September of the same year in Sainte-Madeleine.
Subsequently, other meetings and a trip to France in 1996 took place.
From 1998 to 2001, there was no activity.
The relaunch
In the summer of 2001, a few members, including Abbot Robert, met and agreed to relaunch the association
to the delight of the founder who, unfortunately, dead in November of the same year.
In November 2002, the association was officially reborn.
2002-2017
Over the past 15 years, the association has: Published numerous bulletins;
Unveiled two plaques in memory of our ancestors, Pierre and Jean, at the Parc des Ancêtres in Île-d'Orléans;
Launched several books such as: « Les Labrecque en Amérique : 1657-2007 », « Les Labrecque à travers leurs contrats » (Two volumes);
Produces two editions of a CD containing the genealogical data: « Les Labrecque tous réunis »;
Organized several meetings, etc.
The directors and members of the genealogy committees and the bulletin work hard to support the association.
The participation of the members is important and very appreciated that it is by your presence to the activities,
by your contribution to the various committees and by your financial support.
